Digital Image Download Instructions:

After you have acquired images on your digital camera:

  1. Install your digital camera software for downloading images.
  2. Connect the camera to your computer per your camera's specifications.
  3. Select where to store images on your computer.
  4. Download images to your computer in TIFF or JPEG format.

APPENDIX A: Digital Imaging Form

Split Engineering can assist you (to the best of its ability) with any questions on your specific digital camera and its download procedure. If not using a digital camera, you will have to scan photographs into computer to convert into digital form, or capture images from videotape using a frame grabber.

Transferring Digital Images to Split Engineering:

You have several options for the transferring of images:

A. Use your own FTP software with the following settings

  1. Double click on the [name to be given upon subscription to service] folder in the menu and make sure that the folder is listed in the entry.

  2. Transfer images from local directory to the remote Split Engineering server.

  3. Call or e-mail Split Engineering to inform us that you have completed your image transfer. This enables us to begin processing and analyzing your images in a timely fashion.

  4. Please note that you will only be able to access your personal folder. Access will be denied to any other folder in the main 'split' directory. The same goes for any other company we deal with, so you can be certain of the highest level of security for the images you transfer to our server. Your password will be changed upon your request.
