Every computer connected to the Internet is given
a domain name and a set of numbers, that serve as
that computer's "Internet Protocol" IP
address. When certain forms related to the Split-Desktop
demo are submitted on the Split website, we log
the IP address of the visitor. This is to allow
us to correlate requests to download the demo version
of Split-Desktop with the requests to unlock the
demo for evaluation. This is also a safeguard to
alert us to any potential misuse or piracy of the
Split-Desktop demo. IP address are not collected
at any other times, and are never used for any purpose
other than that described above.
Certain other information about your browser and
computer's settings are also logged when you submit
any form on the Split website. We log the operating
system (platform and version), resolution settings
(ie. 1024 x 768 pixels), and color depth (ie. 16-bit,
32-bit), as well as your browser platform and version.
This information is used to give us insight into
the computing capabilities of our website users
and existing/potential clients.
The above information is submitted to Split ONLY
when you fill out the fields of a form, and click
on the appropriately labeled "Submit"
button. At no other time is any information collected
without your knowledge.
